A 70-year-old Columbus man was arrested after violating a trespassing order by continuing to follow a Worthington woman.

The man had been issued the order in March after the woman reported the man had been stalking her, according to the Worthington Division of Police. The woman, who is in her 30s, met the man at the Worthington Community Center, 345 E. Wilson Bridge Road, but he attempted to convince her to have a sexual relationship with him and repeatedly followed her, police said.

Police received reports the man had been driving through the parking lot of the community center to look for the woman's car.

They set up a surveillance team and discovered the man was driving repeatedly through the parking lot. They arrested him on the morning of May 12 and charged him with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing.
