Dublin police arrested an Indianapolis man on a felony charge of abduction after he allegedly grabbed a woman and tried to force her into an elevator this morning, May 25, at a building in the 3900 block of Tuller Road.

The woman told police that about 10 a.m., the man grabbed her, injuring her arm.

The suspect, James D. Shelton, ran from the scene, and officers chased him on foot, according to police.

Police apprehended Shelton on Interstate 270, just west of Sawmill Road, and used an electronic shock weapon to subdue him.

Shelton also was charged with a count of obstructing official business, also a felony, according to Dublin police.

The woman was evaluated by medics but declined further medical attention, according to police.
