Marysville Uptown Food Crawl
benefit slated June 24
The Marysville Uptown Food Crawl, an event to benefit Union County Guardianship Services, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24 in uptown Marysville.
Participants will get tasting portions of signature items from Hinkleys, Leon's, The Half Pint, Fifth Street Cafe, Fiesta Grande, Goodies Galore, Whit's Frozen Custard and The Ribbon Box.
Union County Guardianship Services provides guardians for adults in Union County who have been found incompetent by the probate court and who do not have appropriate family or friends to safeguard their rights and make decisions in their best interests.
Tickets cost $20 and may be purchased at the Richwood Bank's Marysville branch, McCarthy and Cox, Schulze, Howard & Cox, Bridges, Jillisky & Streng and the Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Memorial Hospital awards
scholarships to Marysville students
Connor Hall and Ean See, seniors at Marysville High School, recently were awarded Memorial Hospital Medical Staff scholarships worth $1,000 each at a high school awards ceremony.
Hall plans to study biochemistry at the Ohio State University and then attend medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. He has participated in the Memorial Hospital Student Volunteer Program for four years, assisting in patient care, physical therapy and surgery, as well as serving on the program’s Student Advisory Committee and Recruitment Board.
See plans to study communication-sciences disorders at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and then earn a master’s degree to become a speech-language pathologist.
Marysville student selected
to Marion homecoming court
Ohio State University Marion student Morgan DeWitt of Marysville was selected to the homecoming court to represent the Marion campus at Ohio State’s homecoming festivities Oct. 2-7 on the Columbus campus.
Homecoming court representatives were chosen based on their application, interview scores, campus involvement and GPA. Students will attend activities throughout the homecoming week, such as the parade, skull session and the football game between OSU and Maryland.
