We think you're going to "Louvre" this year's art-themed summer reading club, including the suite of creative workshops -- many led by local artists -- planned in conjunction with the Artful Summer that get underway this week.

* For all ages: A pair of open art studios are planned at Old Worthington Library, 820 High St., this month. On June 9 and 30, all ages are encouraged to stop in and develop a masterpiece to take home.

Also scheduled at Old Worthington Library is a local artist spotlight featuring Zakary Burgess.

On June 15, he'll talk about what's it's like to be a central Ohio artist, including how he got started.

Northwest Library, 2280 Hard Road, will hold a summer art show July 8 -- everyone's invited to dress up and attend. Ages 6-18 can submit artwork for the event; entry forms are available at the library.

* For kids: A special series of Art Lab programs is scheduled for children ages 9-13 this summer.

Workshops include mural-making with artist Lisa McLymont on June 3; wire sculpting June 12; assemblage with artist Mary Ann Crago on June 26; pinch pot critters with artist Liz Delatore on July 10; and doodle art July 24. Registration is required for each session.

For children under 5, there's an Herve Tullet-style workshop June 9, Finger Paints and Juice Boxes on July 8 (registration required) and the Reggio Emilia-inspired Clay Play on July 14.

All summer workshops will be held at Old Worthington Library.

* For teens: Artist Renuka Bhatt will discuss and demonstrate henna design June 7 at Old Worthington Library, June 8 at Northwest Library and July 10 at Worthington Park Library, 1389 Worthington Centre Drive.

Artist Yasue Sakaoka will guide teens through the sculpture process June 21 at Old Worthington Library (registration required).

A self-portrait workshop is planned June 29 at Northwest Library, during which teens can experiment with different artistic techniques.

* For adults: Polymer clay artist Cynthia Tinapple will introduce beginners to the art of sculpting June 11; registration is required for the Old Worthington Library workshop.

The library also will host two sculptor studies this summer led by an adjunct instructor at the Columbus College of Art and Design.

Ann Shifflet will discuss the work of local artist Alfred Tibor on July 15 and Augustus Saint-Gaudens on Aug. 12.
