An Orange Township man survived after being thrown from his motorcycle late last month at a Berlin Township intersection.

Delaware County Sheriff's deputies responded about 7 p.m. May 23 to a report of a crash near the intersection of Lackey Old State Road and U.S. Route 36.

The man told officers he was riding east on Route 36 when he slowed and attempted to turn south on Lackey Old State Road. The rider lost control after hitting a patch of gravel and sand on the roadway and was flung from the motorcycle, reports said.

Delaware County EMS workers treated the man at the crash site for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to sheriff's reports.

* Deputies responded to a burglary alarm about 3:15 a.m. May 19 in the 8500 block of Columbus Pike in Orange Township. Someone broke the glass front door to a business, causing $500 in damage, before fleeing the scene, according to sheriff's reports.

* A man reported a theft from a construction site in the 5200 block of Louden Drive in Orange Township between 7:30 p.m. May 10 and 11 a.m. May 12. Someone entered a residence under construction and stole hardwood flooring valued at $2,750, reports said.

* A man reported someone stole an SUV valued at $20,000 between 8 p.m. May 21 and 7:45 a.m. May 22 from a driveway in the 7200 block of Lavender Lane in Orange Township.

* Two thefts from vehicles were reported late last month in the 3800 block of Lewis Center Road in Orange Township.

A woman reported a theft took place between 4 and 4:30 p.m. May 20. Someone broke into the car through a passenger window and stole $900 in cash and multiple identification cards, according to reports.

Another woman reported a theft occurred between 8:15 and 8:45 p.m. May 21. Someone broke into the car through a rear window and stole a purse valued at $20 that contained a debit card, a driver's license and keys, sheriff's reports said.

* A man reported a theft from a vehicle took place between midnight and 8:30 a.m. May 21 in the 8500 block of Payson Drive in Orange Township. Someone stole a wallet containing $100 in cash from the vehicle, along with multiple credit, identification and gift cards, reports said.

* A man reported a theft from a vehicle occurred about 10:45 p.m. May 18 in the 200 block of Conner Lane in Berlin Township. Someone stole $1 in change and a flashlight valued at $1 from the vehicle, according to reports.

Powell

* An employee of a business reported a theft from a construction site occurred between 5 p.m. May 19 and 8 a.m. May 22 in the 3400 block of Province Court. Someone entered a residence under construction and stole a furnace valued at $1,000 and and a heat pump worth $1,200, according to Powell police reports.

* A business in the 10500 block of Sawmill Parkway reported two recent thefts.

An employee reported someone stole a mannequin valued at $500 and clothes valued at $50 between 8 and 8:30 p.m. May 17.

Someone stole two vacuum cleaners, together valued at $1,098, from the business at 8:30 p.m. May 15, reports said.

* An employee of a business in the 300 block of Village Park Drive reported a theft occurred between 3 and 6 p.m. May 16. Someone stole a vehicle-diagnostic scanner valued at $4,000 from the business, according to reports.
