The German Village Society experienced a setback yesterday, June 1, in its quest to keep Columbia Gas of Ohio from moving natural-gas meters to the exterior of some residential and business properties.

Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Julie M. Lynch on June 1 dismissed a temporary restraining order against Columbia Gas, based on jurisdictional grounds, meaning the court does not have the authority to hear the case and that it is up to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to settle the matter.

The judge, however, did not address the merits of the case.
