Westerville police said a 42-year-old Westerville man was arrested after allegedly slapping and punching a woman.

According to reports, the victim and the suspect's father were in an argument at a residence in the 200 block of Cherrington Road on the evening of May 22 when the woman woke the man to inform him of the argument. She reportedly "shook" him awake, and the two began to argue, reports stated.

According to reports, the man allegedly slapped and punched the woman in the middle of the argument, causing her to run away.

The man reportedly threw a chair at the woman as she ran into a bedroom. The chair reportedly "narrowly missed" hitting the man's mother, who called police.

When police arrived, the victim was crying and had a bleeding lip and a swollen eye, reports stated.

Police arrested the man and charged him with domestic violence and assault.

* The owners of two vehicles reported broken windows and items were stolen from their cars while they were parked at a dog park in the 700 block of Park Meadow Drive on the evening of May 21.

According to reports, purses were stolen from both vehicles.

* A resident reported seeing someone acting strangely around her house in the 200 block of Hiawatha Avenue on the afternoon of May 24.

According to reports, the woman looked out a window to see what she thought was a "selfie stick."

When she went outside to investigate, she saw someone taking photos of himself in front of her house. When the man saw her, he got into a vehicle and drove away, reports stated.
