Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for July 6-13.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Photo Group: Travel Photography, 10 a.m. July 8 at the nature center. Guests will learn about planning, packing and traveling with gear to get photos while abroad.

Yoga in the Park, 11:30 a.m. July 8 at the Ranger Station. Guests will learn yoga movements in an outdoor setting to rejuvenate mind and body. Participants must bring their own mat or blanket.

Full Thunder Moon Hike, 9 p.m. July 9 at the Ranger Station. Participants will take a 4-mile hike through field and forest.

Preschoolers: Creeking, 9:30 and 11 a.m. July 11 at the Ranger Station. Preschoolers will wade in the creek and discover what critters live there.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Keeping it Cool, 2 p.m. July 7 at the nature center. Guests will learn how animals keep cool in the heat of summer.

Fireflies, 8:30 p.m. July 8 at the Meadows Picnic Area. Guests will examine fireflies during a catch-and-release program.

GPS Adventure, 2 p.m. July 9 at the nature center. Guests will learn about GPS units and navigation and test their skills to find hidden treasure in the park.

Preschoolers: Dinosaurs, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 12 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Preschoolers will step back in time and learn about dinosaurs through stories, activities and craft.

Yoga in the Park, 10 a.m. July 13 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Participants can bring a mat and learn basic yoga techniques.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Pokemon Tram Ride, 1 to 4 p.m. July 8 at the nature center. Guests will celebrate one year of Pokemon Go by riding the tram in search of pocket monsters and gyms. Rides will begin at the nature center every 45 minutes.

Tram Tours, 1 to 4 p.m. July 9 at the nature center. Guests will ride the tram to get to know the park with a behind the scenes tour of the Walden Waterfowl Refuge. Rides will begin at the nature center every 45 minutes.

Preschoolers: Lunchtime Tram Rides, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 10-11 at the nature center. Preschoolers will take a tram ride around the park and make a craft at the nature center. Rides will begin at the nature center every 45 minutes.

Metro Five-0: Level 1 Evening Tram, 8 p.m. July 10 at the nature center. Ages 50 and older will get to know the park on a 45-minute guided tram ride.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Night Bike Ride, 8:30 p.m. July 8 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will enjoy a 8.5-mile ride through field and forest.

For Families: Archery, 5 p.m. July 9 at the Energy Center. Ages 8-17 will learn how to shoot a compound bow.

For Kids: Wildlife Hike, 10 a.m. July 12 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 1-mile walk and search for animals.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Fireflies, 9 p.m. July 8 at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Guests will learn about the different kinds of fireflies and what those blinking lights mean on a half-mile hike.

Howl at the Moon, 8:30 p.m. July 9 at the nature center. Guests will bring a canine friend for a 3.5-mile hike.

Storytime, 10 a.m. July 10 at the nature center. Ages 6 and younger will listen to stories about animals in the summer.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

Summer Entertainment Series: The Mousetraps Kid Rock Band, 7 p.m. July 13 at the Amphitheater. Guests are invited to a one-hour performance by The Mousetraps. Sponsored by Giant Eagle.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Wellness in the Gardens: Tai Chi, 10 a.m. July 8 at the Education Pavilion. The Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA will hold a try-it session and demonstration of Taoist Tai Chi internal arts of health.

Meet the Artist, 2 p.m. July 9 at the Innis House. Guests will meet Dianne Bauman and view her mixed-media art.

Metro Five-0: Level 2 Introductory Tai Chi, 1 p.m. July 10 at the Education Pavilion. Ages 50 and older will learn the first few moves of the ancient Chinese moving meditation form, Taoist Tai Chi, led by instructor Midge Kraus.

Summer Children's Programs: Ohio Buckeyes, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 11 and 12 at the Education Pavilion. Ages 8 and younger will discover the history, uses and culture of Ohio's state tree.

Pickerington Ponds

7680 Wright Road, Canal Winchester

Metro Parks Bike Tour 2017, 9 a.m. July 8 at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area. Guests will enjoy a family-friendly series of rides with park rangers to explore the bike trails. Rides include a long and a short route for experienced bikers and those just starting out. A patch will be given to anyone completing four of the six rides.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Moon Myths, 8:30 p.m. July 8 at the Millstone Picnic Area. Guests will learn about the myths of the moon as they take a 1.5-mile walk around the meadow.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring children for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Late Nights at the Climbing Wall, until midnight, July 14 and 28 and Aug. 11 and 25. Four auto belays will be provided, but climbers must bring their own climbing harness. Late night fishing will be available from the dock on the Scioto River.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Full Moon Float, 7 to 9 p.m. July 7 at the Schrock Lake West Bulletin Board. Guests can stop by anytime and take a canoe out for a ride on the lake. Canoes and equipment will be provided. Children must fit into a life jacket to ride.

Canoe the Lake, 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. July 8 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 9 at the Schrock Lake West Bulletin Board. Guests can stop by anytime and take a canoe out for a ride on the lake. Canoes and equipment will be provided. Children must fit into a life jacket to ride.

Fast-paced Adult Full Moon Hike, 9:15 p.m. July 8 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will take a fast-paced 2.8-mile hike along gravel, paved and natural surface trails.

Go Wild! Kids Club, 4:30 p.m. July 12 in the natural play area. Guests should plan to get wet as they explore Spring Creek.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Family Storytime: The Little Red Hen, 11 a.m. July 7 and 8. Guests are invited for a classic story and activities that show how grain becomes bread.

Built to Bake, 2 to 4 p.m. July 9. Guests will learn how a wood burning cook stove works and browse through a collection of 19th-century cookbooks while preparing baked goods.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Barking and Breakfast, 9 a.m. July 8 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will enjoy breakfast snacks with their dog and then take a 3-mile walk at their own pace.

Preschoolers: Bats, 10 a.m. July 11 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will learn about bats through games, activities and stories.
