A 31-year-old homeless man was charged with assault and criminal damaging at 8:06 p.m. July 17 after allegedly punching a man in the head and body at an address in the 5600 block of Ironwood Court.

The suspect also allegedly caused $150 in damages to a tire.

In other Northland-area police reports:

* A woman who lives in the 1200 block of Fahlander Drive North contacted police at 4:50 p.m. June 20 after receiving two disturbing telephone calls regarding her son.

The woman, 57, said she received the first call at 11:22 p.m. June 19 from someone she didn't know "stating that her son had been in an accident and was in the hospital and was not going to make it," according to the responding officers.

"The suspect then hung up the phone. The victim contacted her son and her son stated that he was OK and nothing was wrong." The woman said she received a second call from a person telling her the same thing about her son.

* The case of three people who were victims as well as suspects in an alleged stabbing incident at the intersection of Tamarack Boulevard and Red Robin Road was turned over to the assault squad after officers responded to the scene at 1:47 p.m. July 19. The victims and alleged assailants were two men, one 25 and the other 57, and a 29-year-old woman.

* Keys to a house, car and mailbox were the only items stolen in a burglary that was reported at 4:02 p.m. July 18 in the 4600 block of Northtowne Boulevard. The victim, a 63-year-old woman, said the break-in occurred sometime after 6 p.m. July 14.
