It's hard to believe it's almost time to say farewell to another Worthington Libraries Summer Reading Club. But before we do, we need to celebrate all that reading, learning and doing with an event grand enough to be worthy of the art-themed club.

All artists are invited to Northwest Library, 2280 Hard Road, on Friday, July 28, for a Completion Bash. Starting at 6 p.m., children can have fun playing bean-bag games, creating sidewalk art and crafting pipe-cleaner crowns. There also will be face painting and a bounce house, weather permitting.

Families can bring a picnic dinner or purchase food from the Broke Johnny food truck, which serves breakfast and brunch food all day.

At 7 p.m., the Muppet Mayhem Band will take the stage to perform songs spanning the Muppets' entire career. Songs will start with "The Muppet Show" theme song to "Moving Right Along" and "Rainbow Connection" from the original "Muppet Movie," to "Man or Muppet" and "I'll Give You What You Want" from the most recent Muppet movies. The six-piece band also touches on favorites from "Sesame Street" and "Fraggle Rock," as well as the occasional deep dive for the hardcore fan.

"We play music the whole family will enjoy hearing," said Patrick Long, who plays bass and sings in the band. "The kids will love dancing to the music, and the parents won't believe how many of these songs they remember from their own childhood – there will be something for everyone. People shouldn't be surprised to find themselves singing along."
