An 18-year-old woman and a juvenile who live in the 100 block of North Street filed a theft complaint at 12:40 p.m. July 26.

They told the responding officer that between 10 a.m. July 24 and 8 a.m. the following day, three wallets containing a combined $8,500 had been taken from their apartment.

The wallets themselves are valued together at $250.

In other recent Clintonville-area police reports:

* A man who lives in the first block of West Cooke Road reported at 1:47 p.m. July 26 that someone apparently had stolen a check that was mailed to him by his employer. The victim said he believes the check for $836.25 was supposed to have arrived between July 3 and 13. "But upon investigation, I learned that that check was deposited into a bank account that was not mine at a bank that I have no relationship with," the man told police. "It appears someone intercepted that check and deposited it into their own account."

* A camera with batteries, lenses and two memory sticks was reported stolen July 26 from a car parked in the 100 block of Rathbone Avenue. In the complaint filed at 10:09 a.m., the victim said he came home from shooting photos the previous evening and left his camera equipment in the vehicle. The equipment was taken between 11 p.m. July 25 and 8 a.m. the next day.
