The Bexley Senior Citizens group is seeking donations for the annual Trash and Treasures Sale, which will be held during the city's Labor Day Block Party, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 3 at Jeffrey Mansion, 165 N. Parkview Ave.
"Due to the increased attendance every year, the hours have been extended," said Mary Ellen DeLaney, senior citizen coordinator with the city of Bexley Recreation and Parks Department.
"The money earned from this activity will help enhance the Bexley Senior Citizen program," DeLaney said.
Items that will be accepted for donation toward the sale include furniture, "knickknacks" and home decoration items, paperback books, electronics, lawn mowers, kitchen appliances, jewelry, gardening tools and patio furniture. Items that will not be accepted include clothing, outdated computers and monitors, hardcover books, vinyl records and VHS tapes.
The Bexley Activities Club will accept donations Aug. 28 through Sept. 1 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Jeffrey Mansion. Monetary donations also will be accepted, with checks made payable to the Bexley Activities Club.
For more information or to arrange for pickup of items for donation, call DeLaney at 614-559-4310.
