I have lived in Central Ohio for over 15 years, yet only recently was I introduced to Pickerington Community Theater.
This all-volunteer organization stages several productions a year with a multitude of people working in the cast and behind the scenes. I was very fortunate to play in the pit orchestra for PCT's recent production of "Annie."
From the very beginning of rehearsals, it was clear this was an organization that prided itself on excellence throughout all aspects of the production. The quality of vocals, dancing and overall depth of talent from the cast was amazing and the majority of the musicians came with extensive training from diverse musical backgrounds. I'm very thankful to the community for coming out repeatedly to show their support for the show as we had very large crowds including a sellout.
The backing of the community helped us entertain every night, and we were encouraged by the crowd's energy and enthusiasm. I hope no one else has to wait as long as I did to find PCT. I'm so very grateful to be involved with them, and I encourage those in central Ohio to check out an upcoming PCT production.
For anyone looking to get involved, PCT is an all-volunteer organization and is always looking for help, be it onstage, backstage or offstage. More information can be found at pickeringtoncommunitytheatre.org.
