A Worthington mother called police July 25 after discovering someone had mailed her juvenile daughter a package she suspected contained drugs.
According to reports, the woman informed the Worthington Division of Police that she believed a "silver foil packet" received in the mail contained "hallucinogenic drugs," though police have not yet tested the substance and did not open the package before sending it for testing.
According to Sgt. Jim Moran, police might have to wait four to six months before testing can confirm whether the substance was drug-related. Police did not provide the girl's age. No charges have been filed.
In other recent Worthington police incident reports:

The police division has received dozens of similar reports this year and the thefts are being investigated by the local office of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
