The race for Hilliard City Council will be contested on the Nov. 7 general-election ballot, but the candidates who filed petitions to run for Hilliard City Schools board and Brown and Norwich township trustees are unopposed.

The filing deadline with the Franklin County Board of Elections for the latter three races was Aug. 9. Candidates should be certified Aug. 21, according to board of elections spokesman Aaron Sellers.

According to unofficial filings from the board of elections, the lists are as follows:

School board

• Mark Abate, 3024 Hemlock Edge Drive

• Paul Lambert, 4697 Prestige Lane (incumbent)

• Lisa Whiting, 801 Thorncrest Court (incumbent)

Brown Township trustee
(two candidates, two seats)

• Gary L. Dever, 3989 Walker Road (incumbent)

• Joseph T. Martin, 8601 Morris Road (incumbent)

Norwich Township trustee
(two candidates, two seats)

• Charles Buck, 4814 Canterwood Court (incumbent)

• Larry Earman, 4369 Shire Creek Court (incumbent) 

Meanwhile, Hilliard is one of a few municipalities in Franklin County to have partisan City Council seats and conduct a primary, so the field of seven candidates for four seats was determined May 2:
