A man who lives in the first block of East Tulane Road contacted police at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13 regarding receiving a bogus check.
The victim said the transaction, which involved $1,525, took place Nov. 2.
In other Clintonville-area police reports:
* A woman told police at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 13 that a money order she left earlier at the post office, 2804 N. High St., fraudulently had been cashed. The victim said the $625 money order for her father's rent was dropped off Aug. 29 or 30, addressed to a post-office box in Lewis Center, but it never arrived and was cashed Sept. 1.
* Damage was estimated at $200 after a resident of the 200 block of Garden Road reported the windows of his van had been busted out at 5:12 a.m. Sept. 11.
The victim said he observed two men wearing dark clothing and hoodies leaning into the van. When he yelled at them, they jumped into a black, older sedan and drove off in the direction of North High Street.
