‘Walk with a Doc’ slated Saturday
Licking Memorial Health Systems will hold a Walk with a Doc event at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Road SE, Newark.
Participants will take a walk beginning at the Lake Trail Connector path beside the main shelter house and parking lot, as Dr. Kenneth Parker of Licking Memorial Otolaryngology discusses ear, nose and throat issues.
Snacks and water will be provided.
This event is free, but registration is required.

Hospital adds ophthalmologist
Licking Memorial Hospital recently announced Melissa Tripoli joined its active medical staff as an ophthalmologist for the Center for Sight.
Tripoli received her medical degree from Temple University College of Medicine in Philadelphia; completed an internship at Crozer-Keystone Hospital in Chester, Pennsylvania; and received an ophthalmology residency at the Ohio State University.
The Center for Sight is at Suite 100, 1717 W. Main St., Newark.
Licking Memorial Family Practice adds nurse practitioner
Licking Memorial Family Practice at Licking Valley recently announced the addition of certified nurse practitioner Sarah Dorsky.
Dorsky will provide care with Dr. Andrew Seipel. Dorsky received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University and her master’s degree in nursing from Ohio University in Athens and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Nurse anesthetist joins Licking Memorial Anesthesiology
Thomas “Marty” McCoy, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, recently joined Licking Memorial Anesthesiology.
As a nurse anesthetist, McCoy will provide comprehensive medical evaluation and clinical management of patients who need anesthesia or sedation for surgery, obstetrics and some diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
McCoy received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio University in Athens and his master’s degree in nursing from Drexel University in Philadelphia and is certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
