Bexley police said a resident in the 600 block of Vernon Road reported he discovered two checks missing from his residence on Sept. 16 after the bank notified him that one of the checks had been presented for payment.
The person who presented the check, discovered to be a forgery, fled when asked for identification, reports stated.

* A resident reported someone stole his bicycle between Sept. 15 and Sept. 16 from the Cassingham Elementary School playground, 250 S. Cassingham Road. The bicycle was described as black, having blue and white stripes with silver lettering, a high seat and 20-inch wheels.
* An employee of a business in the 500 block of North Cassady Avenue reported a male suspect came into the store at 4:19 p.m. Sept. 16 and stole about 40 scratch-off lottery tickets from the counter. The tickets were valued at $5 each, reports stated.
* A resident in the 800 block of Sheridan Avenue reported someone stole his trash can between Sept. 11 and Sept. 13.
* A resident in the 900 block of Mayfield Place reported that sometime between Sept. 7 and Sept. 12, someone stole his 2006 Cadillac from the parking lot behind his apartment building.
