Sheriff's reports

A driverless delivery truck struck a house in Liberty Township earlier this month, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

Deputies responded about noon Sept. 12 to a report of a one-vehicle crash in the 2600 block of Bean-Oller Road.

A delivery driver told deputies he failed to put the truck in park before exiting the vehicle to deliver a package. The driver attempted to jump back into the truck to stop it, but the vehicle lurched forward and struck the northwest corner of the residence, reports said.

The crash caused functional damage to the side of the vehicle, according to sheriff's reports. Reports did not estimate the amount of damage done to the structure.
