A thief fled with 30 bags of potato chips after breaking into a vendor's trailer at the Delaware County Fairgrounds during the county fair.

Delaware County Sheriff's deputies responded about 5:30 a.m. Oct. 1 to the fairgrounds, 236 Pennsylvania Ave., after a woman reported someone broke into her trailer between noon Sept. 29 and 5 p.m. Sept. 30. Someone caused $500 worth of damage to a storage barn's garage, then stole 30 bags of potato chips, together valued at $30, from the trailer, according to sheriff's reports.

The thief also took two covers, together valued at $20, from the vendor's soda dispensers, reports said.

Damage to the site and trailer was estimated at $619, according to sheriff's reports.

* A worker reported breaking and entering occurred between 5 p.m. Sept. 29 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at a construction site in the 1400 block of Big Bluestem Way in Berkshire Township. Someone stole two toilets, together valued at $1,349, and two faucets, together worth $400, from the site, according to sheriff's reports.

* Deputies responded to a report of a theft in progress shortly before 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at a business in the 100 block of Meadow Park Avenue in Orange Township. Someone reportedly stole four pairs of shoes, together valued at $215, from the business.

Deputies later that day arrested a 29-year-old Pickerington man and a 31-year-old Massillon woman on charges of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, in the incident, reports said.

* A woman reported a theft took place between midnight Sept. 20 and 8 a.m. Oct. 3 at a residence in the 800 block of Bunty Station Road in Delaware Township. Someone stole two video-game consoles, together worth $380, and 25 games, together valued at $320, according to sheriff's reports.

Deputies have identified a suspect in the case, reports said.

* Deputies responded about 8:45 a.m. Oct. 9 at the intersection of Bean-Oller Road and Sawmill Parkway at the border of Delaware and Liberty townships. Someone driving east struck a street sign while entering the roundabout intersection and fled the scene, reports said.
