As many begin to fret about the looming end to 2017, the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce couldn't be more excited.

In December, the chamber will begin celebrating 50 years of service to the Westerville area.

The celebration will kick off early on with a Golden Gala on Nov. 3 at Villa Milano.

The chamber will host the Golden Gala, an elegant evening of networking and entertainment, good spirits and even better food, and a silent and live auction. There is still time for you and/or your business to be seen at the gala as registrations, sponsorships and auction donations are still open.

No chamber year is complete without accepting nominations for the annual chamber awards, which includes Business Person and Young Professional of the Year, along with the Small and Big Business of the Year awards.

Nomination guidelines and forms can be found online at or at the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page. Award nominations will be reviewed by a committee and selected winners will be announced at the chamber's annual luncheon scheduled held Jan. 23, 2018.

To close out a busy end to 2017, the upcoming quarterly membership luncheon on Dec. 11 is scheduled to have both U.S. Congressional representatives Joyce Beatty and Pat Tiberi to present on the state of politics at home in their districts and in Washington, D.C. The luncheon is open to the public and begins at 11:15 a.m. at Crowne Plaza Columbus North. Register at by Dec. 7.

We look forward to all that lies ahead as 2017 closes, but are even more excited for what is to come during our 50 years celebration.

We are most appreciative of the strong business community today and through the years that brought us to this milestone on Dec. 5.
