Nationwide Realty Investors has announced plans for a new two-story, 32,000-square-foot mixed-use building at Grandview Yard.

The new building will be at 1125 Yard St., just south of Third Avenue.

The project will include 15,000 square feet of ground-level retail space and medical and office space on the second floor.

Columbus Obstetricians-Gynecologists Inc. will occupy 10,000 square feet on the second floor, providing a full-service OB-GYN practice.

"We love the Grandview area and we did a fairly extensive search of what was available in the community," said Mark VanMeter, Columbus OB-GYN's chief operating officer. "Nothing quite fit our needs as much as Grandview Yard. We're looking forward to being part of such an exciting project."

When it opens, the new office will replace Columbus OB-GYN's Mount Carmel West facility, VanMeter said.

"We will be moving our administrative headquarters to Grandview Yard," he said.

About 50 Columbus OB-GYN employees will work in the new building, VanMeter said.

The company operates 10 offices in central Ohio and opened several of them during VanMeter's tenure as COO, but he said the Yard project is the most exciting.

"First, we're excited about coming to such a vibrant community as Grandview," VanMeter said.

"Then there is Grandview Yard's location. It's exciting to be opening an office that's not located adjacent to a hospital setting," he said.

"The location will be ideal for our patients and also our employees," he said in reference to the restaurants and other amenities at the Yard and in the Grandview area.

Brian Ellis, president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Realty Investors, the Yard's developer, said in a press release that NRI is happy to announce the Yard's latest tenant but noted with the high demand, few office and retail sites remain.

Groundbreaking for the building is planned for January, with construction expected to be complete in fall 2018.
