It appears German Village is getting another coffee shop.

The neighborhood’s second Starbucks would share part of the building occupied by the Education First Credit Union, 399 E. Livingston Ave.

The almost 11,000-square-foot building would have a third tenant, which has not been announced.

The German Village Commission is expected to review the plans Nov. 8.

According to request filed with the city of Columbus, the coffee chain would have a drive-thru — the first in recent memory if not the first ever — in the historic district.

It is not clear how much room Starbucks would take up, but it would have some seating capacity, said Molly Monroe, property manager for Northstar Realty, the local developer on the project.

The site plan leaves open the possibility of an addition on the building and room for a six-seat patio on the northeast side of the structure, Monroe said.

The plan calls for motor vehicles entering one way from the west side of the property, traveling around the building to the drive-thru on the east. Vehicles then would exit back onto Livingston.

At least three businesses would be inside the building, according to the application. The request comes with additional signs, too.
