Violet Township voters retained incumbent Terry Dunlap and elected Melissa Wilde, a sitting Pickerington city councilwoman, Nov. 7.
According to unofficial final results from the Fairfield County Board of Elections with all precincts reporting, Wilde had received 3,995 votes (36.3 percent) and Dunlap had 3,727 votes (33.8 percent).
Wilde was challenging Dunlap and incumbent Harry Myers Jr. for their two seats on the three-member board of trustees. Myers had received 3,291 votes (29.9 percent).
Wilde was elected to the Pickerington City Council in November 2015 and is chairwoman of the council’s rules committee and secretary of the safety committee. She also is the council’s representative on the Pickerington Parks and Recreation Board.
Her term on council expires Dec. 31, 2019, but she said she plans to resign from council post in December.
Dunlap is a farmer and a former Pickerington police officer and safety services director. He was first elected as a trustee in 1993.
Myers is retired from the commercial construction industry and has been a trustee since 2001.
Darrin Monhollen is the third member of the board of trustees. His term expires Dec. 31, 2019.
