Off-trail Hike, 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Ranger Station. Guests will explore remote areas of the park on a 6-mile hike. Participants are encouraged to bring water and a snack.

Photo Group: Image Review, 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Nature Center. Guests will discuss photos by group members.

Yoga in the Park, 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Cedar Ridge Lodge. Guests will learn movements to rejuvenate mind and body.

Nature Crafts, 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Nature Center. Guests will create easy crafts with materials found in the wild.

Owls of Darby Creek, 5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Indian Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will lure in owls using calls and recordings as they take a 2-mile hike.

Preschoolers: Quackers, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Nature Center. Guests will explore the lives of ducks and discover where they go in winter.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Lens and Leaves Camera Club, 6 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Guests will see member photos and learn photographic techniques. Nonmembers welcome.

Walk and Roll, 9 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Nature Center. Guests will bring their stroller or baby backpack and enjoy a 1.5-mile walk.

Fall Experiments, 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Nature Center. Guests will try some simple science experiments.

Homeschoolers: Nature Ninjas, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Ages 6-12 will learn from the masters and discover how animals use their ninja skills to escape from predators and catch prey.

Metro Five-0: Level 1 Nature Painting, 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Ages 50 and older will paint a fall landscape scene. Materials will be provided.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

Metro Five-0: Level 3 Discovery Walk, 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Nature Center. Ages 50 and older will search for plants and animals preparing for winter as they take a 2-mile walk.

Waterfowl, 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Nature Center. Guests will hike a third of a mile to Thoreau Lake to see water-loving fowl.

Evening Animals, 5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Nature Center. Guests will look for wildlife that comes out at sunset as they take a 2-mile walk.

Movie Afternoon: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about turtles and watch the original Ninja Turtles movie. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

Meet the Artist, 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Innis House. Guests will meet Kathy Gordon and view her fiber artwork at a reception.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will search for birds in the park.

Scioto Grove Metro Park

Night Hike, 5:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Hickory Picnic Area. Guests will explore their senses on a 1-mile hike in the dark.

Homeschoolers: Preparing for Winter, 1 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Arrowhead Picnic Area. Guests will study how plants and animals prepare for the cold season.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

GPS Hide and Seek, 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Natural Play Area. Guests will search for hidden caches off-trail. GPS units will be available.

Go Wild! Kids: Club: Geocaching, 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Spring Hollow Lodge. Ages 5-12 will learn how to use a GPS unit to hide and seek off-trail geocaches.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Firewood Warms You Twice, 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 11 and 12 at the Farmhouse. Guests will try a two-man saw or a shingle splitter while learning about varieties of wood.

Preschoolers at the Farm: Where the Thanksgiving Meal Comes From, 10 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Farmhouse. Guests will learn about typical Thanksgiving foods and meet one of the barnyard turkeys.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Grapevine Wreath Making, 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will make decorative wreaths for their home using items found in nature.

For Adults: Off-trail Hike, 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will explore rarely seen parts of the park on a 2.5-mile hike.

Homeschoolers: Winter Wildlife Science, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Heritage Nature Center, 551 Wirt Road, Groveport. Ages 5 and older will discover how animals and plants survive and thrive in the cold season.
