A burglar got away with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and other valuables earlier this month after striking a house in Orange Township.

A woman reported someone entered a residence through a side door between 11 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the 8000 block of Summitpoint Place. Someone stole a watch valued at $25,000; three necklaces, together worth $25,000; four rings, together valued at $5,000; and eight gold bars, together worth $7,123, according to Delaware County Sheriff's reports.

The burglar also got away with seven handbags, together valued at $6,250, reports said.

No suspects have been identified in the incident, according to sheriff's reports.

* Deputies responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the intersection of Piatt and Shanahan roads near the border of Berlin and Orange townships. A car attempting to stop at the intersection slid and struck a dead-end sign at the southern terminus of Piatt Road, according to sheriff's reports.

No one was injured in the incident, reports said.

* A man reported vandalism occurred between 9 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 4 in the 300 block of Highmeadows Village Drive in Orange Township. Someone trespassed on the property and damaged Christmas decorations valued at $100, according to reports.

* A man reported a theft occurred between 4:15 and 5 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 2500 block of Sandhurst Drive in Orange Township. Someone stole a tablet computer valued at $749 from the residence, sheriff's reports said.

* Deputies responded to a report of a theft in progress shortly after 1:45 p.m. Dec. 10 at a business in the 8800 block of Columbus Pike. Someone stole a television valued at $156, a drink worth $2 and a $1 sandwich, according to sheriff's reports.

After arriving, deputies arrested a 31-year-old Columbus man on a charge of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor, reports said. Deputies also arrested a 52-year-old Columbus man on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after recovering a crack pipe from the scene, reports said.

* A woman reported a theft from a vehicle occurred between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 8 in the 8700 block of Olde Worthington Road in Orange Township. Someone stole sunglasses valued at $714; two handbags, together worth $350; shoes valued at $50; and other items from the vehicle, according to reports.
