Fourteen people have applied to replace Hilliard City Councilman Joe Erb.

Erb resigned Dec. 14 because he was moving out of Hilliard; his term expires Dec. 31, 2019.

City Council members have 45 days from his effective resignation to name a successor or the council president may make the appointment, according to law director Tracy Bradford.

The six council members are expected to interview the 14 candidates on Jan. 8, said council clerk Lynne Fasone, but no selection is expected to be made then.

The 14 people who filed applications include several members of the charter-review commission, a business owner, a member of the Hilliard Environmental Sustainability Commission and the chairman of the Hilliard Planning and Zoning Commission.

The applicants are:

• Scott Brown

• Kelly Lamb

• Ryan Lee

• Chris Lewie

• Shanna Madden

• Pete Marsh

• Averel Meden
