Fried eggs are a staple on many breakfast tables. These days, however, they are a regular addition to burgers, sandwiches, salads and some entrees.
ThisWeek staffers answer the question: Are chefs putting fried eggs on too many dishes?
Scott Hummel: I mostly eat chicken at restaurants, so no fried eggs are on my plate.
Abby Armbruster: I do not think so. My only regret is that fried eggs are put on top of meat-heavy dishes, which I don't eat as a vegetarian. But a fried egg on top of stir-fry? Yes, please.
Andrew King: No, I'm pro-fried egg on most dishes.
Dennis Laycock: If you're a chef, you have to put either a fried egg or an avocado on everything these days. It's the law.
Lee Cochran: Not in my opinion.
Lisa Proctor: I have never been able to stomach fried eggs. So even one is one too many.
Neil Thompson: No. Fried eggs are always welcome in or on my food.
