Hilliard Davidson High School drama students will present "Dear Chuck" from Thursday, Jan. 11, to Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Experimental Theater in room 70 at the school, 5100 Davidson Road.

One-hour performances begin at 7 p.m. each evening and admission is $5.

Written by Jonathan Dorf, "Dear Chuck" is a one-act play "that centers around issues teenagers face in their lives every day," said Emily Campbell, assistant theater director at Davidson. "Through a series of scenes and monologues, the audience meets a group of teen characters who are trying to communicate with that 'special someone,' coping with the loss of a classmate (and) controlling parents (while) swimming for that island of calm. What they all have in common is the search for their 'Chuck,' that elusive moment of knowing who they are."

The ensemble cast includes sophomores Spencer Cook, Lauren Kim, Ava Britain and Hope Troyer.

"Anyone can relate to at least one of the scenes in this play (and) it allows the audience and the performers to empathize," Kim said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for everyone to connect."
