A 32-year-old Hilliard man allegedly kicked a police officer in the chest after officers were called to a residence for a domestic dispute New Year's Day.

The man was arrested on Sandbrook Lane for assault on a police officer, a fourth-degree felony, after officers were called to a residence at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 1, Lt. Ron Clark said. The man also is accused of striking an officer in the face, Clark said.

Norwich Township medics were not required to be called to the scene, he said.

The man was arraigned Jan. 2 and scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 11 in Franklin County Municipal Court, according to court records.

* 32-year-old man, a 46-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested on misdemeanor charges of drug abuse and possession of drug-abuse instruments at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 30 in the 4600 block of Trueman Boulevard.

An officer stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and found the occupants had illicit drug paraphernalia, Clark said.

* A 28-year-old woman was arrested for misdemeanor drug abuse and possession of a controlled substance at 7:20 p.m. Dec. 28 in the 4500 block of Cemetery Road.

* A 20-year-old man was arrested for misdemeanor drug abuse and possession of marijuana at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at Jeannette Road and Stonecross Lane.

* A license plate was reported stolen at 1:35 p.m. Dec. 29 from a vehicle in the 5600 block of Standish Court.

* A cellphone worth $500 was reported stolen between 11 a.m. and noon Dec. 29 from the 3900 block of Britton Parkway.

* A radio worth $800 was reported stolen between 8 p.m. Dec. 29 and 1:15 p.m. Dec. 30 from a vehicle in the 5300 block of Wakefield Drive.
