Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for Feb. 1-8.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Six More Weeks, 11 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will celebrate Groundhog Day and learn whether there will be an early spring or six more weeks of winter, as well as uncover the world of hibernators through story, craft and making shadows on the wall.

Preschoolers: Salamanders, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Feb. 6 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about salamanders through story, song and craft.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Frigid Fungi, 2 p.m. Feb. 3 on the Nature Center. Guests will take a 1.5-mile walk to look for mushrooms that persist in winter.

Whoo's Courting, 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a 1.5-mile walk to search for barred owls.

Lens and Leaves Camera Club, 6 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Guests will see member photos and learn photographic techniques. Nonmembers are invited.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

45th annual Winter Hike Series, 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at the Cherry Ridge Program Area. Guests will hike 2, 4 or 6 miles through forests and fields. Food will be provided.

Bird Hike, 9 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a 2-mile walk to find feathered friends.

Superb Owl Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about these raptors as they touch wings, skulls, talons and pellets and view taxidermy specimens.

Metro Five-0: Level 2 Tree ID, 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Nature Center. Ages 50 and older will learn how to identify different tree species.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Crayon Creations, 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will make art using crayons.

Howl at the Almost Full Moon, 6 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will enjoy a 3.5-mile hike with their dog.

Storytime, 10 a.m. Feb. 5 at the Nature Center. Guests will enjoy stories about owls and other nighttime hunters.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

32nd annual Quilt Show, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 and 4, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Innis House. Guests will view quilts produced by members of the Columbus Metropolitan Quilters. Members will be available to answer questions Feb. 3 and 4.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Weekly Bird Hike, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will search for birds in the park.

Scioto Grove Metro Park

5172 Jackson Pike, Grove City

Kids, Parents and Grandparents: Groundhog Fun, 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Grove Lodge. Guests will bring the family for activities celebrating Ohio's largest squirrel.

45th annual Winter Hike Series, 2 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Arrowhead Picnic Area. Guests will enjoy a 1- or 2-mile hike followed by hot food and drinks.
