New Albany City Council on Feb. 6 unanimously approved a 2.5 percent increase in salary for its members.
The 2.5 percent increase means that Mayor Sloan Spalding will make $23,476.22 annually, or $902.93 per pay period. He previously made $22,903.63, or $888.91 per pay period.
For presiding over Mayor's Court, the mayor or president pro tem will earn $5,384.46, or $207.09 per pay period. He previously earned $5,253.13, or $202.04 per pay period. The mayor or president pro tem serves on the court on average two times per month.
Council members will receive $10,758.40 annually, or $413.78 per pay period. They previously earned $10,496 annually, or $403.69 per pay period.
The council has five members in addition to the mayor and president pro tem.
City Council last voted on compensation in 2015 and approved a 2.5 percent increase.
