It is true, 2018 is off to a cold start, but reflecting on all the wonderful events and opportunities there were in Westerville in 2017 brings many warm thoughts.

The arts were alive and well, with theater performances by Curtain Players, Westerville Civic Theater, all three high schools and Otterbein University.

The Westerville Symphony, Westerville Concert Band and Otterbein musicians brought beautiful music to the community.

The Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce brought in artists from all over the nation for the Music and Arts Festival and Westerville Garden Club combined gardening and the arts during the WesterFlora Garden Tour.

There were other fantastic events that showcased our community including Mount Carmel St. Ann's Fourth Fridays, Uptown Shuffle, Uptown Untapped, Midnight Madness, Columbus Children's Festival, Independence Day celebration, Tapestry of a Town, the Great Westerville Food Truck Fest and Cops and Kids Day.

Thankfully, the new Westerville Civic Green was done just in time for the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

We rounded out the year with the Westerville Children's Christmas Parade, Progressive Christmas Concert, Uptown Ice Sculpture Tour and another successful run of "Uptown Scrooge." Special thanks to Good Medicine Productions for their performances, to the 500 people who attended the shows and to Morgan's Treasure Fine Jewelry for donating a beautiful ring that was given away to one lucky audience member.

Unique events like these are just part of what makes Westerville such a great place to live, work and visit!

If you missed any of the fun, you are in for a treat. We are doing it all again, and more, in 2018.

See you in Westerville.
