Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for March 1-8.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Off-Trail Hike, 9 a.m. March 3 at the Ranger Station. Guests will take a 4-mile hike.

Fishing With Flashlights, 6 p.m. March 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will watch the living stream come to life after dark.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Owl Hike, 10 a.m. March 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a 1-mile walk to search for barred owls.

Metro Five-0: Level 2 Timberdoodle Tango, 6:30 p.m. March 7 at the Nature Center. Ages 50 and older will search for the male woodcock as he performs his aerial courtship display.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Geology, 2 p.m. March 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will take 1-mile hike along the Ripple Rock Trail and learn about its geological features.

Bird Hike, 9 a.m. March 4 at the Nature Center. Guests will take part in a 2-mile hike and look for feathered friends.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Howl at the Moon, 6:30 p.m. March 3 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a 3.5-mile hike with their dog.

Storytime: Water, 10 a.m. March 5 at the Nature Center. Ages 6 and younger will hear tales about animals that live in rivers and ponds.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Meet the Artists, 2 to 4 p.m. March 4 at the Innis House. Guests will view mixed media art by Westerville Art League members at a reception.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Homeschoolers: Grossology, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. March 8 at Spring Hollow Lodge. Children ages 6-12 will learn about all aspects of nature through gross and disgusting facts.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Maple Time, 1 to 3 p.m. March 3 and 4 at the Farmhouse. Guests will sample maple syrup and learn about making it the 1880s way. A short hike to the sugarbush will leave the farm at 1 and 2 p.m. Sap collecting and boiling is dependent on weather, but all other activities will take place. Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

For Adults: Eagle Watch, 2 p.m. March 4 in the Madison Christian Church parking lot, 3565 Bixby Road, Groveport. Wander through field and forest on a 1-mile, off-trail walk to watch the nesting bald eagles through a spotting scope.
