Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for March 8-15.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Footprints in the Forest, 10 a.m. March 10 at the Ranger Station. Guests will search for animal tracks and signs on a 3-mile hike.

Photo Group: Portrait Photography, 10 a.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn techniques to help capture good portraits.

Yoga, 11:30 a.m. March 10 at the Cedar Ridge Lodge. Guests will learn basic yoga movements to rejuvenate mind and body. Participants are encouraged to bring a mat or blanket.

Feed the Stream, 2 p.m. March 11 at the Nature Center. Guests will help serve a meal to the creatures in the living stream.

Preschoolers: Red Wigglers, 9:30 and 11 a.m. March 13 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about worms and the way these creatures help the soil.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Woodcock Walk, 6:30 p.m. March 9 at the Nature Center. Guests will search for this bird as it performs its aerial courtship display.

Vernal Pools Display, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 10 and 11 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn about seasonal wetlands and their importance to wildlife.

Botany in a Day, 2 p.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests will watch a multimedia presentation about plant patterns and how they can aid in identification.

Science Sunday: Spring Migration Prep, 2 p.m. March 11 at the Nature Center. Guests will brush up on bird identification.

Preschoolers: Pond Life, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 14 at the Beech Maple Lodge. Guests will explore animals that live in freshwater ponds through stories, activities and crafts.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

90-Minute Birding, 9:30 a.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a walk of up to 1 mile to areas where a lot of birds have been seen recently.

Lunch and Learn: Maple Syrup, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 10 at the Nature Center. Guests will pack their lunch and learn about the art of making maple syrup.

Preschoolers: Duck, Duck, Goose, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 12 at the Nature Center. Guests will look for waterfowl on the lake, read a story and make a craft.

Homeschoolers: Woodcocks, 7 p.m. March 13 at the Nature Center. Children ages 6-12 will learn about these birds and watch them fly as they perform a courtship dance.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Walk and Woof, 2 p.m. March 10 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will go on a 2.5-mile hike with their dog.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Timberdoodle Time, 7:30 p.m. March 11 at the Nature Center. Children ages 10 and older will check out the woodcock's aerial courtship dance.

Preschoolers: Feed the Birds, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. March 14 or 9:30 and 11 a.m. March 15 at the Nature Center. Guests will help feed feathered friends and learn how to help them at home.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Growing Dahlias, 2 p.m. March 11 at the Innis House. Guests will learn how to start and maintain dahlia tubers with members of the Greater Columbus Dahlia Society.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Vernal Pool Extravaganza, 1 to 4 p.m. March 11 at the Millstone Picnic Area. Guests will stomp through the swampy fields and search for frogs, salamanders and toads at the height of their breeding season.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Homeschoolers: Grossology, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. March 8 at Spring Hollow Lodge. Children ages 6-12 will learn about all aspects of nature through gross and disgusting facts.

Spring Forward, 2 p.m. March 11 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 1.5-mile walk off-trail through woods and fields.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Timberdoodle Time, 6:30 p.m. March 10 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 2-mile walk to catch the aerial courtship display of the American woodcock.
