Making a secret compartment in a vehicle could cause more trouble for a 21-year-old man than the marijuana Hilliard Division of Police officers found inside it.

The man was arrested March 3 for traffic violations and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, but he also faces a fourth-degree felony charge for the "hidden compartment" because state law prohibits the modification of vehicles to conceal contraband, Lt. Ron Clark said.

An officer stopped the motorist at 1:30 a.m. after observing an illegal U-turn at Vicksburg Lane and Vicksburg Court.

During the stop, officers searched the vehicle and discovered marijuana hidden in a console area that had been modified to conceal the drugs, Clark said.
