An 18-year-old Worthington man was arrested March 3 after allegedly assaulting his mother by throwing her to the ground, hitting her in the head with a dehumidifier and choking her.
The man and his mother were arguing at their home on South West Street when the incident turned violent, according to the Worthington Division of Police.
When officers arrived, the woman complained of head and throat pain, according to reports. She was checked by Worthington medics at the scene but not transported to a hospital.
The man was arrested, charged with assault and domestic violence and taken to the Franklin County jail.

* Between March 3 and March 7, officers stopped five individuals and charged them with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Reports came from the intersections of High Street and New England Avenue, state Route 161 and Alrojo Street, the 6700 block of North High Street and twice from the corner of Route 161 and Evening Street.
* Two Worthington residents recently reported cases of identity theft.
On March 3, one resident reported finding two unauthorized charges on his credit cards. On March 5, another resident reported fraudulent charges on his card were made in Indiana.
