Grandview Heights police officers responded at 1:55 a.m. March 20 to a home in the 1200 block of Willard Avenue after the residents reported someone had broken into the house while they were sleeping upstairs.
The suspect left the home when the residents woke up, reports said. Several items, including a television, a laptop computer and a video-game console, were reported stolen.
In other recent Grandview police reports:
* A resident of the 1800 block of West Third Avenue reported packages containing shoes and window shades were stolen March 22 from her porch.
* A resident of the 800 block of Woodhill Drive reported a stroller and child's car seat were stolen March 11 from her front porch.
Surveillance video from a neighbor's house reportedly showed two suspects loading the items into a vehicle.
The suspects later were identified as a husband and wife from Columbus. They were arrested and each faces a misdemeanor charge of theft, according to reports.
* A security officer reported March 19 he observed a woman entering unlocked vehicles parked in the 1100 block of Rail Street and stealing change. The suspect, a 31-year-old Columbus woman, was detained until officers arrived. She allegedly admitted to police that she stole money from the cars, and the change was found in her purse.
The woman was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of theft. She also was found to have an active warrant through Columbus police and was taken to the Franklin County jail.
