A suspected incident of forgery at a Westerville business resulted in three drug-related arrests.

According to reports, an employee of a business in the 400 block of South State Street reported someone was possibly trying to cash a forged check on the evening of March 6.

Police arrived and determined the checkbook being used had been stolen from a Licking County woman and took the 23-year-old Johnstown man at the counter into custody.

While the man was being arrested, two other officers spoke with two people who had arrived with the man in the parking lot.

According to reports, police saw drug paraphernalia openly sitting in the vehicle and detained the 41-year-old Utica woman and 37-year-old Johnstown man in the car.

Officers reportedly found a white substance on the 23-year-old that he admitted was heroin. He was charged with forgery and possession of drugs, reports stated.

The woman reportedly admitted a substance found in the glove box was methamphetamine.

She was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance, according to reports.

The 37-year-old man reportedly had a backpack containing 28 grams of suspected marijuana. He also reportedly lied to police about his identity and was charged with falsification of identity, reports stated.

Other items, such as used syringes and burnt spoons, were found lying in the vehicle, according to reports.

In other recent reports from the Westerville Division of Police:

* Someone broke into a construction site in the 600 block of Africa Road and stole several rolls of wiring.

According to reports, video footage showed someone driving near the site around 5 a.m. March 8.

The wire stolen was reportedly worth more than $8,000.

* An employee of a business in the 900 block of Eastwind Drive reported someone cut fuel lines and stole gasoline from company vehicles.

According to reports, someone broke into the property between March 9 and 10 to cause the damage.

There are no suspects in the case.
