Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Photo Group: National Parks, 10 a.m. April 14 at the Nature Center. Guests will learn tips and techniques for photographing Arizona and Utah National Parks.

Yoga in the Park, 11:30 a.m. April 14 at the Ranger Station. Guests will learn basic yoga movements to rejuvenate mind and body. Participants should bring a mat or blanket.

Photography Workshop with McConnell Arts Center, 9 a.m. April 15. Guests will capture flowers up close with a macro lens and discuss composition, outdoor photography and landscape. To register, visit tiny.cc/ma-class.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

New Moon Hike, 8:30 p.m. April 14 at the Nature Center. Guests will participate in a 1.5-mile lantern-lit hike.

Garlic Mustard Pull, 1 p.m. April 15 at the Nature Center. Guests will kick off Earth Week by pulling this invasive plant in the nature preserve, followed by a treat to reward hard work.

Metro Five-0: Level 2 Lantern Hike, 8:30 p.m. April 15 at the Nature Center. Those age 50 and older will take a 1-mile lantern-lit hike.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Westerville

90-Minute Birding, 9:30 a.m. April 14 in the Nature Center. Guests will go on a walk of up to 1 mile to areas where birds have been seen recently.

Take a Wild Guess, 1 to 4 p.m. April 15 at the Nature Center. Guests can test their nature skills and try to answer questions about things found in the park.

Preschoolers: What Animals Eat, 9:30 and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 17 at the Nature Center. Preschoolers will discover the favorite meals of various animals through games and stories.

Homeschoolers: The Food Chain, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 19 at the Nature Center. Children ages 6-12 will discover what animals eat while playing a game and making a craft.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Go Fly a Kite, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 12 at the Windmill at Energy Center. Guests can celebrate National Kite Month by flying their kite, borrowing a kite to fly or creating a kite to take home.

Woodcock Watch, 8 p.m. April 13 at the Picnic Shelter Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 1-mile hike and search for this bird as it performs its aerial courtship.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Earth Day 2018, 9 a.m. April 14 at the Nature Center. Guests will help rid the park of litter and invasive plants, plant trees and work to beautify the garden beds. To register, visit greencbus.org.

Colors Scavenger Hunt, 1 p.m. April 14 at the Nature Center. Guests will take a walk and look for the colors of the rainbow in flowers, birds, reptiles, amphibians and other nature items.

Wildflower Walk, 11 a.m. April 18 at the River Bluff Area, 8400 Olentangy River Road. Guests will search for spring blooms such as bluebells, trillium and spring beauty.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

Spring Scavenger Hunt, 10 a.m. April 14 at the Barn. Children ages 3-10 will find signs of animals getting ready for spring.

For Families: Native Bees, 2 p.m. April 14 at the Barn. Guests will take a half-mile walk and learn about these animals and the plants that depend on them.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Metro Five-0: Level 3 Signs of Spring, 2 p.m. April 14 at the Millstone Picnic Area. Guests will take a 2-mile walk and see signs of the season.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Late Nights at the Climbing Wall, April 13 at the Climbing Wall. The climbing wall will stay open until midnight for Late Nights at the Climbing Wall programs, which will be held the second and fourth Friday of the month from April through October. There will be four auto belays, but climbers must bring their own climbing harness. Late night fishing also available tonight from the dock on the Scioto River.

Scioto Grove Metro Park

5172 Jackson Pike, Grove City

Hunter Education Home Study Course, 1 p.m. April 15 at the Grove Lodge. Guests will complete the classroom portion of the Ohio Division of Wildlife's Home Study Hunter Education course. To register and complete prerequisite course material, visit tiny.cc/h-ed-odnr.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Happy Tails-N-Trails, 7 p.m. April 17 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will bring a canine companion for a 2-mile hike followed by a dog treat.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Homeschoolers at the Farm: Give and Take, 1 p.m. April 12 at the Farmhouse. Guests will learn what care the farmer gives to the livestock and how animals help the farm family.

Sheep on the Farm, 1 to 3 p.m. April 14 at the Barn. Guests will watch sheep shearing, meet the lambs and learn about the use of wool.

Slate Run Metro Park

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

Metro Five-0: Level 3 Spring Wildflower Stroll, 11 a.m. April 19 at the Buzzard's Roost Picnic Area. Visitors ages 50 and older will take a leisurely stroll to look for blooms.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Frog Frenzy, 8 p.m. April 13 and 14 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests will bring a flashlight and search for frogs in the ponds and listen to their mating calls.

Preschoolers: Awesome Amphibians, 10 a.m. April 17 at the Confluence Trails Bulletin Board. Guests can discover frogs, toads and salamanders through stories and activities.
