A man and woman wanted on theft and drug charges, respectively, were arrested recently after employees at a local business reported they were engaging in suspicious activity in the store's bathrooms.

Upper Arlington police responded to a store in the 1900 block of West Henderson Road at 6:04 p.m. May 17 after employees reported they suspected two people were using drugs.

Officers found arrest warrants had been issued for both.

The man, 36, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, was wanted by Columbus police for theft.

The woman, 28, also from Mount Vernon, was wanted in Knox County for possession of dangerous drugs.

Police reports said both were found in possession of hypodermic needles and "tie-off" bands used to facilitate the injection of drugs.

The woman also was found in possession of a credit card belonging to a Knox County woman who reported being the victim of an April 11 burglary, police reports said.

Both were charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, and the woman also was charged with receiving stolen property. They both were taken to the Franklin County jail.
