A portion of state Route 605 in New Albany is expected to close Wednesday, June 6, for a construction project, according to New Albany city officials.

The southbound lane of Route 605 – also known as New Albany-Condit Road – will be closed between New Albany Road and Walnut Street for up to 75 days, said city spokesman Scott McAfee.

The northbound lane will remain open, he said.

The closure will be for a road-widening project by the New Albany Co., McAfee said. It is for Nottingham Trace, a Pulte Homes development that will include 240 age-restricted homes off Schleppi Road, and will accommodate the future home of Canine Companions for Independence at 7444 New Albany-Condit Road, he said.

The June 6 closing also is weather-dependent, he said.
