A man told Columbus police he was waiting for his employer to open for business and another man ran up from behind him and snatched his $150 mobile phone.

The crime occurred at 6:35 a.m. June 21 in the 900 block of Parsons Avenue, according to Columbus Division of Police incident reports.

The victim said the suspect fled in a black sport utility vehicle. The victim reported his glasses also were damaged during the incident.

The victim told police he knows the suspect because he owed him money but never paid him back.

In other recent incident reports from the area:

* At 2 a.m. June 21, someone ransacked a car in the 500 block of Elsmere Street but nothing was believed to have been stolen.

* Between 11 p.m. June 18 and 8 p.m. June 19, someone forced open the side door to a residence in the 200 block of East Moler Street and stole $20 worth of copper from the basement.

The thief also caused $400 in damage to the door.
