Reynoldsburg police are awaiting a coroner’s report about the death of David A. Vollette, 46, who lived in the 7700 block of Pembrook Drive.

Officers discovered Vollette’s body while making a well-being check at 12:36 p.m. June 27. Pembroke Drive is in the Slate Ridge subdivision off state Route 256.

Police Chief David Michael Plesich released Vollette’s name and date of birth (Jan. 15, 1972) today, June 28.

“The cause of death is undetermined at this time,” Plesich said. “We are awaiting the coroner’s report. We are also still seeking information from anyone who has seen his car.”

Vollette’s car, a white 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis -- which had its driver-side and passenger-side windows vandalized recently -- is missing, Plesich said. The Ohio license-plate number is HBN8685.

Plesich said anyone with information about the missing car should call the police department at 614-866-6622.

Although Vollette’s neighbors said Vollette had told them he was suffering from cancer when he moved in last August, Sgt. Mike Binder said June 27 that police are investigating the death as a possible homicide.
