A 51-year-old Columbus man is in the Franklin County jail, charged with murder in the death of Reynoldsburg resident David Vollette.
According to a press release from Reynoldsburg police, the department used DNA evidence to develop a lead that led to the arrest of Joel Smalls.
Reynoldsburg officers, with the help of Columbus SWAT searched Smalls’ residence Friday evening, June 29.
Reynoldsburg police officers found Vollette’s body in his home in the 7700 block of Penbrook Drive in Reynoldsburg during a well-being check June 27. His car, a 2005 white Mercury Grand Marquis with two broken windows, was missing from the front of his house Wednesday and was found Friday in the 1000 block of East Livingston Avenue in Columbus.
