A 26-year-old woman told a Columbus police officer at 1:10 p.m. July 4 that she has been the victim of continual harassment from a man with whom she broke up several months ago. She told police the harassment has included the man sitting in the parking lot in front of her apartment in the 4800 block of Weybridge Road West.

In the past week, the woman said, she received 150 phone calls from the man, who also has tried to contact her using email and social media. The incidents date back to June 18, the victim said, and include his appearance in the parking lot at 10:30 p.m. July 3.

* One of the people involved in a "mutual fight" that erupted in the 5500 block of Karric Square Drive at 1:07 a.m. July 4 pulled out a small handgun when the fisticuffs had concluded and fired a shot overhead, according to a complaint. The suspect then drove off in a white sport utility vehicle.

* A woman filed an assault complaint at 10:05 a.m. July 3 on behalf of her juvenile son.

She said the youth was injured while defending himself during a fight at a basketball game in the 4900 block of Bethel Road the previous day between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

"The complainant took her son to get checked afterward, and he sustained a fracture to the middle finger on his left hand," according to the report.

"The victim also had a small cut on his bottom lip and he stated that he has or had a bruise on his head."

The fight arose, the woman's son said, when he inadvertently elbowed another of the basketball players in the chin.

* Three handguns worth a total of $870 were reported missing at 6:49 p.m. June 29 from a residence in the 7600 block of Donora Lane.

The victim, a 64-year-old woman, said the weapons were taken sometime after June 1, and she does not believe it was done by someone who broke in, but rather friends of her son.

"Officer spoke to the victim's son ... who stated he has allowed numerous people into the home and any of them may have taken the property," according to the report. The son allegedly was unable to provide specific names for the friends.
