Zaru soba is a wonderfully light Japanese dish, featuring chilled buckwheat noodles served on a slatted bamboo mat and accompanied by green onions and dipping sauce.
ThisWeek staffers answer the question: When is the last time you had zaru soba?
Dennis Laycock: Never. I rarely order soba if ramen or udon are on the menu, and cold noodles just isn't appetizing to me.
Lisa Proctor: Until now, I had no idea what it was, let alone ate it.
Nate Ellis: Never, that I know of. I think I should try them.
Andrew King: I haven’t had it, but I’d definitely try it.
Scott Hummel: I have never tried it. I would, though.
Neil Thompson: I don't think I've ever tried it.
Abby Armbruster: The last time I ate soba noodles was in a bowl of Ramen, but I don't particularly like cold noodles, so count me out for zaru soba.
Sarah Sole: What's that?
Lee Cochran: I've never had it.
