Residents will have one last opportunity this week to weigh in on the updated master plan for Jeffrey Mansion, 165 N. Parkview Ave., before the document is submitted to the city of Bexley for final approval next month.
The final public workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Bexley City Hall, 2242 E. Main St.
Since April, the Jeffrey Mansion Master Plan Refresh Committee has been working to update the 2008 Jeffrey Mansion master plan before an expansion that the city and the Bexley Community Foundation announced last year moves forward.
This final workshop includes revisions that have been made to the plan based on feedback residents gave during a May 31 workshop, said Michael Price, director of the Recreation and Parks Department.
The concepts that will be presented are "going to look at all four floors of the mansion, the parking and landscaping," he said. "We'll start to look at how these things could be phased in."
The Jeffrey Mansion expansion, which the city and the community foundation announced last fall, is estimated to cost $1.5 million to $2 million, and the foundation has committed to raising $1 million. The project will involve enclosing the atrium with a glass ceiling, thus creating more space for a variety of programming, including preschool and summer camps.
The final master plan update is scheduled to go before the city of Bexley's Recreation Board and Bexley City Council in August.
