Two men were charged with second-degree felonies after an assault was reported earlier this month in Jerome Village.
A resident in the 11000 block of Cedar Crest Drive in Jerome Township, which is part of a Jerome Village neighborhood that still is under construction, told police he was assaulted in his driveway at 9 p.m. July 11, said Jeff Stiers, lieutenant of the investigations unit at the Union County Sherriff's Office.
The man was treated by medics on scene, he said.
Two men, a 30-year-old Columbus resident and a 34-year-old Aurora, Colorado, resident, were arrested at 1 p.m. July 12 in the 200 block of Eldon Avenue in Columbus and charged with felonious assault, Stiers said.
The men are at Tri-County Regional Jail in Mechanicsburg and each have a $300,000 bond, he said.
ThisWeek determined two men booked at the jail July 12 matched the description of ages, arrest date and bond information. They are Sidney Bernardez Mejia, 34, and Marvin A. Martinez, 30.
When asked if these were the two suspects ThisWeek had inquired about, Stiers confirmed they were.
Stiers said a third individual "was a lookout with the two main aggressors," but police needed to find leads about the person's identity.
The case remains under investigation, Stiers said. No other details were available.
Jerome Village is in the Dublin City School District. The site of the reported assault is about a mile from the planned site for a new elementary school and middle school.
