Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Moth Mania, 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. July 21 at the Nature Center. Guests can set light traps to lure in these nocturnal wonders.

Movie Night, 7:30 p.m. July 21 at the Nature Center. Guests can watch "Bears," a documentary film about a family of brown bears living in the coastal mountain ranges of Alaska.

National Moth Week, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 21-29 at the Nature Center. Guests can celebrate National Moth Week and see a display of moths collected by one of the park volunteers.

Greenways Bike Tour 2018, 9 a.m. July 21 at the Canoe Access. The Bike Tour will feature guided 8- or 11-mile rides.

Feed the Stream, 2 to 3 p.m. July 22 at the Nature Center. Guests can enjoy the fish feeding frenzy as they help feed them worms, crickets and minnows.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Inventions Inspired by Nature, 2 p.m. July 20 at the Nature Center. Guests can learn about inventions that nature discovered first.

Biomimicry Display, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 21 and 22 at the Nature Center. Guests can discover inventions inspired by nature.

Art in the Park: Nature Painting, 7 p.m. July 25 at the Sassafras Shelter. Visitors ages 12 and older can join a naturalist for a guided painting program. Materials will be provided.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Westerville

Preschoolers: Water, Water Everywhere, 9:30 and 11 a.m. as well as 1:30 p.m. July 19 at the Nature Center. Guests can learn about the importance of water and the creatures that depend on it, then cool off with some water fun.

Constellations by Day, 2 to 5 p.m. July 21 at the Nature Center. Guests can make a craft to learn constellations to look for at night.

Relaxing Yoga, 6:30 p.m. July 23 at the Nature Center. Guests can let the stress of the day melt away with an hour of outdoor yoga.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Movie in the Park: "Coco," 9 p.m. July 21 at the Windmill at Energy Center. Visitors ages 5 and older can watch Disney's "Coco" on a big outdoor screen. The movie is rated PG. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Bat Night Hike, 8:30 p.m. July 25 at the Shelter House. Guests can learn about the importance of bats and take a 1-mile walk to look for bats hunting.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

For Kids: Creeking Critters, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 20 at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Children ages 3-12 can wear old shoes and explore the Olentangy River looking for animals.

For Families: Sensory Night Hike, 8:30 p.m. July 21 at the Nature Center. Visitors ages 3 and older can use their senses on this 1.5-mile night hike through forest and field. Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight.

For Families: Make a Seed Tape, noon to 4 p.m. July 22 at the Nature Center. Guests can make a seed tape to take home and plant. Choice of vegetable seeds or flower seeds will be available.

For Kids: Bioblitz, 10 a.m. to noon July 25 at the Big Meadows Picnic Area. Children ages 8-12 can bring a smartphone and learn to be a scientist. Participants can record the plants and animals seen at the park on- and off-trail with the iNaturalist phone app. Guests should download the iNaturalist app prior to coming to the park. The app is available for both Android and iPhones.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

For Kids: Play in the Mud, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 19 at the Nature Center. Children ages 3-10 can play in the mud.

Meet the Animals, 1 p.m. July 23 at the Nature Center. Guests can get acquainted with reptiles and amphibians.

Summer Entertainment Series: COSI on Wheels, 7 p.m. July 26 at the Amphitheater. Guests are invited to a 1-hour performance by COSI on Wheels.

Inniswood Metro Gardens

940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville

Sunny Sundays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays at the Herb Garden. Members of the Herb Society of America, Central Ohio Unit will answer visitors' questions.

Herb Garden Celebration, 2 to 4 p.m. July 22 at the Innis House. An event featuring speakers, tours of the garden and herbal tea will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Inniswood Herb Garden and the 85th anniversary of the Herb Society of America.

Introductory Tai Chi, 1 p.m. July 23 at the Education Pavilion. Guests can learn the first few moves of this ancient Chinese moving meditation from Taoist Tai Chi instructor Midge Kraus in this introductory lesson. All fitness levels are invited.

Summer Children's Programs: Bug Recyclers, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 24 and 25 at the Education Pavilion. Guests can search for composting critters while learning about bugs.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Metro Five-0: Level 3 Flowers, 2 p.m. July 21 at the Millstone Shelter. Guests ages 50 and older can learn about summer flowers while walking 2 miles on paved and natural surface trails.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Late Nights at the Climbing Wall, second and fourth Fridays at the Climbing Wall. The climbing wall will stay open until midnight for Late Nights at the Climbing Wall programs, which will be held through October. There will be four auto belays, but climbers must bring their own climbing harness. Late night fishing also is available from the dock on the Scioto River.

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St. Bring little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars and search for birds.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Happy Tails-N-Trails, 10 a.m. July 21 at the Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests can bring a canine companion for a 2-mile hike followed by a doggie treat.

Family Tram Rides, 3 to 6 p.m. July 22. Guests can catch the tram at any of the tram stop signs and tour the park.

Preschoolers: Summer Fun Tram Rides, 10 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m. July 25 and 26 at the Schrock Lake Picnic Shelter. Guests can go for a tram ride and wear a swimsuit for some water fun before and after.

Fast-Paced Adult Full Moon Hike, 9 p.m. July 26 at the Apple Ridge Picnic Shelter. Guests can take a fast-paced 2.8-mile hike along gravel, paved and natural surface trails.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm

1375 state Route 674 N., Canal Winchester

A Hunting We Will Go, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24-29 at the Farmhouse. Guests can pick up a scavenger hunt list at the farmhouse and seek items around the farm.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Preschoolers: Bats, 10 a.m. July 19 at the Confluence Trails Area. Guests can learn about bats through games, activities and stories.

Summer Tree ID, 2 p.m. July 22 at the Confluence Trails Area. Guests can learn to identify trees using leaves and other characteristics on an 1-mile walk.
